Pigeon Peas-Veggies Soup

Toor Dal(Pigeon Peas)-Veggies Soup

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 3


1 cup toor dal (pigeon peas)

1 cup finely chopped carrots

1 cup finely chopped peas

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 teaspoon lemon juice

3 glasses of water


1 tablespoon of butter


Pressure cook toor dal in 2 glasses of water for 3 whistles. Par boil carrots and peas.

Take a pan and heat butter. Add carrots and peas and sauté it for 3-4 minutes. Blend toor dal and add it to carrots and peas. Add 1 glass of water, salt, pepper, paprika and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes. Add lemon juice and let it simmer for about a minute.

Serve it with any bread or rice/pulav.
