![]() Beetroot Sweet-Chilly Sauce
Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 10- 12 minutes Serves: 4 Ingredients 1 cup grated beetroot 1 big red chilly 3 tablespoon sugar/jaggery 1 teaspoon lemon juice Salt Method Take red chilly and roast it on the gas stove or grill it in the microwave till it turns dark. Let is cool slightly. Remove the dark skin and seeds and make small pieces. You can add more chilly if you like it spicy. As this is for kids, I have put only 1 chilly. Take beetroot, red chilly, add about 4 tablespoon of water and blend it in the mixture. Take a pan. Add beetroot mix, 1 glass of water, jaggery, salt and cook it for about 5-7 minutes. Add lemon juice and let it simmer for 3-4 more minutes till it thickens. You can serve it with fritters, parathas or toast. |
