Gunda Sambharo (Clammy berries, fragrant manjack)

Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes

Marinating Time: 30 minutes

Serves: 3

Ingredients

1 cup gunda (clammy berries, fragrant manjack)

1 cup besan (gram flour)

2 teaspoon red chilly powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

2 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Salt

2 tablespoon oil

Method

Wet your hands with oil and put some salt and rub it properly. This will help the glue not to stick on your hands. Other option is wear gloves.

Dry roast besan and let it cool.

Cut the slit on the top of gunda and remove the seeds. Cut all into halves. Sprinkle lots of salt (4-5 tablespoon), mix it well and leave it for 30 minutes. This helps to remove the stickiness from inside. Don't worry, salt will be removed when it is done.

Take a pan and heat oil. Add gunda, salt, turmeric powder and cook it on medium to low heat till it is almost done. (Check and then add salt as we have already put salt in the beginning.) Add red chilly powder, cumin powder, sugar, besan and cook it again on low heat for about 4-5 minutes, stirring it occasionally till it is done.

Serve it with roti or parathas.
