Preparation Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Serves: 5 Ingredients 2 cup maida/all purpose flour 1 1/2 cup rava/semolina ½ cup dry coconut ½ cup castor sugar/powdered sugar ¼ cup raisins 6-8 cashew nuts 6-8 almonds 1 teaspoon cardamom powder 4 tablespoon ghee/clarified butter Oil
Method Take a pan and heat ghee. Add 1 cup rava and sauté it till it turns light brown. Halfway add coconut and sauté it with rava. Don’t add it in the beginning otherwise it will turn black. Let it cool. Add castor sugar and dry fruits. For dough – Take maida, 2 tablespoon ghee, mix it well and add water to make a dough. Knead the dough till it is smooth. Make small balls. Take a ball and roll it into 3-4 inch diameter circle. Put rava mix in centre and fold it into half-semicircle shape. Apply milk on the edge so that it doesn’t open. Press the edge properly and make a decorative design on the edges. You can even use ghughra mould. Prepare all the ghughras in same way. Take a kadai/wok and heat oil. Deep fry ghugharas in batches till it turns light golden on a medium flame. Keep it on the absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Let it cool. Store it in an air-tight container. |
