Spinach Sticks

Spinach Sticks

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Serves: 5


1 ½ cup maida (all purpose flour)

1 cup split moong dal (yellow)

1 cup cut spinach leaves

1 inch piece of ginger

4-5 cloves of garlic

3-4 green chillies


Oil for frying



Soak moong dal in warm water for about 2 hours. Drain out the water. Take 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté dal till water evaporates. Add salt.

Take spinach leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies and mix it in a mixer. Add 1-2 tablespoon of water if needed.

Take flour, add spinach paste, dal and salt (be careful as we have already added salt in dal) and knead dough as of paratha. Roll the dough in plain flour so that it is easy to roll it.

Make very small balls and roll it with hands to make the sticks. Prepare all the sticks.

Take oil in frying pan and deep fry all the sticks on the medium flame. Start frying after all the sticks is rolled so that it gives some time to dry it.

Your crispy sticks are ready. You can store it for about 3-4 days.
