Soaking Time: 3-4 hours

Serves: 4


5-6 big potatoes

1 cup sabodana/sago balls

5-6 finely chopped green chillies

2 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon red chilly powder

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon fennel seeds


Oil for frying



Soak sabodana for 3-4 hours. I have taken small ones. You can use big sabodana also.

Boil the potatoes, remove skin and mash it. Take cumin seeds and fennel seeds and coarsely crush it. Remove the water from sabodana.

Take a bowl, add mashed potatoes, sabodana, cumin seeds and fennel seeds, salt, green chillies, ginger paste, red chilly powder and mix it well.

Wet you hands, take about 2 teaspoon of mix and make small balls. Prepare all the balls.

Take kadai/frying pan and heat oil. Deep fry all the balls in batches.

Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
