Radish Yellow Gram Fritters

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Soaking Time: 2 hours

Serves: 3

1 cup yellow gram(moong dal)

1 cup grated radish/muli

2 tablespoon powdered sugar

1 tablespoon ginger paste

2 tablespoon green chillies paste

1 cup finely chopped coriander leaves

¼ cup besan/gram flour

1 tablespoon chat masala

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Oil for frying

½ cup green chutney

½ cup tomato ketchup

Remove excess water from radish by squeezing and keep it aside. (Don’t throw away the water)

Soak yellow gram for 2 hours. Drain water, add coriander leaves and make a coarse paste. Add 2-3 teaspoons of water(radish water) if necessary.

Take a bowl. Add yellow gram paste, radish, sugar, salt, lemon juice, chat masala, ginger and green chillies paste and mix it well. Add gram flour gradually and mix it well to make soft dough. If it is very soft add more flour.

Take a pan and heat oil. Grease your hand with oil. Take about 2 teaspoon of mixture and make a ball and either make round tikki or shape it into a square or rectangle. Deep fry into batches till it is light brown and crispy. Put it on the kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Serve it with green chutney and tomato ketchup into small bowls.
