Method Soak moong in water for about 7-8 hours. Drain water and put it in a jar or bowl. Cover it with a muslin cloth or a colander if it is summer time. It will sprout within 15-16 hours. It will take more time in winters. Steam boil sprouts for about 5 minutes and keep it aside. Take a bowl. Add rava, salt, water and mix it well to make a thick batter. Take another bowl. Add moong sprouts, carrot, green chillies, salt and mix it well. You can use ready sprouts also. Take a non stick tawa/griddle and put about ½ a spoon of oil. Take a ladleful of batter and spread it evenly on the tawa. Sprinkle sprouts mix on it and pat it lightly with your hands. Put two-three drops of oil on it. When the down side is done lightly brown, turn it upside down with a spatula and let the top part be cooked. Keep the flame on low otherwise it will burn. Same way, do it all the uttapams. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
