![]() Preparation Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes Serves: 3 Ingredients ¾ cup rice ½ cup split green gram ½ cup peas ½ cup finely chopped carrots ¼ cup finely chopped potatoes ½ cup finely chopped onions 2 teaspoon garlic paste 4-5 finely chopped green chillies 2 teaspoon red chilly powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 2 teaspoon cumin seeds 3-4 cloves 1 inch piece of cinnamon 4-5 curry leaves A pinch of asafoetida Salt 2 teaspoon oil
Method Soak rice and split green gram for about 30-40 minutes. Take a pan and heat oil. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, curry leaves, asafoetida. Add onions and sauté it for 2-3 minutes. Add garlic paste, all the vegetables, salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, green chillies and mix it well. Drain out the water and add rice and split green gram and 3 glass of water and close the lid. Stir it occasionally. Add water if there is a need. Cook it till it is done. You can cook in the pressure cooker also. Same way follow the procedure but add 2 ½ glass of water instead of 3 glass of water. Pressure cook for 2 whistles. Serve it hot with curd or raita. |
