Lentil Paratha

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Soaking Time: 2-3 hours

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 3



1 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)

1 cup wheat flour

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

3 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice





Soak chana dal for about 2-3 hours. Drain the water and blend it to thin paste, adding 2-3 teaspoon of water if necessary. The mixture should be thick, not watery.

Add salt, garlic-ginger paste, green chillies, lemon juice and mix it well.

Take a bowl, add wheat flour, salt, oil and knead dough. Keep it aside.

Make small balls from dough. Roll the roti from the dough. Make two such rotis.

Spread the stuffing on one roti and cover it with other. Roll it again into big roti with light hands.

Take non-stick tawa/griddle and cook it on both the sides smearing with oil. Prepare all the parathas in same way.

Serve it immediately with tomato ketchup, curd or chutney.
