![]() Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Soaking Time: 4-5 hours Serves: 4 Ingredients 1 ½ cup Bengal gram 2 cup finely chopped bottle gourd 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes 2 teaspoon garlic paste 1 teaspoon ginger paste 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 2 teaspoon red chilly powder 1 teaspoon coriander-cumin powder 1 teaspoon cumin seeds A pinch of asafoetida Salt 2 tablespoon oil Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method Soak Bengal gram for 4-5 hours. Either you can boil it or cook it with bottle gourd. Take a pan and heat oil. Add cumin seeds, asafetida, garlic-ginger paste and stir it for 2-3 times. Add bottle gourd, salt, turmeric powder and cook it for 4-5 minutes. Add Bengal gram, red chilly powder, coriander-cumin powder and cook it for 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook it for 1-2 more minutes. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it with roti/paratha or rice. If you are using boiled Bengal gram then add it after bottle gourd and if you are using it soaked Bengal gram then add it before adding bottle gourd. |
