Bottle Gourd Koftas

Serves: 4


2 cup grated bottle gourd

1 cup besan (gram flour)

½ wheat flour

3 teaspoon ginger paste

4 finely chopped green chillies

½ lemon

2 teaspoon red chilly powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon garam masala

2 cup curd

1 cup dry coconut powder

2 teaspoon raisins

1 teaspoon cumin seeds


Coriander leaves for garnishing



Take grated bottle gourd in a bowl. Add salt, 2 teaspoon ginger paste, 2 green chillies finely chopped, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice and mix it well. Add wheat flour and besan and mix it well and make soft dough. Prepare small koftas. Take kadai and deep fry all the koftas. Keep it aside.

Take kadai and heat 2 teaspoon of oil. Add cumin seeds, remaining garlic paste, green chillies and stir it for 2-3 times. Add curd, coconut powder and cook it for 3-4 minutes. Add 1 glass of water, raisins, salt, garam masala and cook it for about 5 minutes. Add koftas and cook for about 5 more minutes or till koftas becomes soft stirring occasionally but softly.

Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot with rotis or parathas.
