![]() Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes Serves: 3 Ingredients 2 cup bhindi/ladies finger/okra 2 cup chopped tomatoes 1 big chopped onions 2 inch piece of ginger 4-5 cloves of garlic 3 green chillies 1 teaspoon cinnamon-cardamom-cloves powder ¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder 2 teaspoon red chilly powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon cumin-coriander powder 1 bayleaf ½ lemon ½ teaspoon poppy seeds 1 teaspoon butter/fresh cream Salt 4 teaspoon oil Method Cut both the ends of ladies finger. Make vertical slits. Keep it aside. Take poppy seeds and soak it in 3-4 teaspoons of water for about 15 minutes. Take kadai and heat oil. Add onions, ginger-garlic, tomatoes and sauté it for 4-5 minutes. Let it cool for some time. Add poppy seeds and blend it with a blender or in a mixer. Take kadai and heat oil. Add gravy, green chillies, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder, cinnamon-cardamom-clove powder and stir it for 3-4 times. Add salt, nutmeg powder, and cook for it about 5 more minutes. Add ladies finger and cook it for 8-10 minutes on a medium flame, till it is done. Add fresh cream and cook for it about a minute. Serve it hot with roti, paratha or puri. |
