Cornmeal-Nuts Ladoos

Cornmeal-Nuts Ladoos

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes


1 cup cornmeal (makai ka atta)

¾ cup coarsely ground peanuts

¾ cup sugar

4 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter)

1 tablespoon rose water

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

5 tablespoon water

¼ cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)



Take a pan and heat ghee. Add cornmeal and sauté it for about 2-3 minutes. Add peanuts and sauté till it turns light brown.

Meanwhile, take another pan, add sugar, water and heat it to make syrup of 2 thread consistency. Switch off the gas stove and add rose water.

Add cardamom powder, nuts and sauté cornmeal for 2-3 more minutes. Add sugar syrup and mix it well.

Grease dish with ghee and keep it ready. It will be hot and slightly lumpy so it will be difficult to make ladoos with hands. Take a spoonful of mixture and with the help of two spoons make a ball like shape and put it in the dish till it is cool. Make all the balls like this. Let it cool completely.

Put it in an air-tight container and store it.
