Sabodana Kheer

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Soaking Time: 4-5 hours

Serves: 3


4 cup milk

1 cup sobadana

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

A few strands of saffron

4-5 almonds for garnishing



Soak sabodana in water for about 4-5 hours. Drain the water before using.

Take a pan and boil milk. Add sugar, sabodana and let it boil. Stir it frequently otherwise it will stick at the bottom. Add saffron and cardamom powder. Cook it till it is done. To check it, press it between two fingers and if it is soft then it is done. It will be slightly sticky. Let it cool.

Keep it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes. Garnish it with almonds and serve it cold.
