Samo/Shama Millet Kheer

Samo/Shama Millet Kheer

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Soaking Time: 1 hour

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 5


1 cup samo/shama millet

6 cup milk

¾ cup sugar

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

A pinch of saffron

Nuts to garnish


Wash and soak samo in water for 1 hour. This will help in fast cooking.

Take a pan and boil milk. Add sugar and let it come to boil. Drain water from samo and add in milk. Stir occasionally till it is done.

Add cardamom powder, saffron and mix it well. Let it cool.

Garnish it with nuts and serve.

You can eat it during fast/vrat also.
