Sevaiya Baskets

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Serving Time: 10 minutes

Makes 15 baskets


15 baskets

½ packet of thin and roasted vermicelli

1 cup milk

1 cup sugar

2 teaspoon cardamom powder

2 teaspoon honey

15 cherries for garnishing

2 tablespoon of ghee/clarified butter



Take pan and heat ghee. Make small pieces of vermicelli and add to ghee. Saute it continuously till it turns light brown. Add milk, ½ glass of water and mix it well. As water starts mixing with vermicelli, add sugar, cardamom powder and mix it well. Cook till ghee starts leaving the sides. Let it cool for some time.

For serving- Take a basket and apply honey inside the basket. Fill up the basket with sevaiya. Garnish it with a cherry. Prepare all the baskets in the same way.

Serve it immediately.
