![]() Burmese Bhel(Khao suey) Preparation Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Serves: 4 Ingredients 2 cups boiled noodles ½ cup peas ½ cup chopped French beans ¼ cup finely chopped carrots ¼ cup finely chopped onions ½ cup finely chopped tomatoes 1 grated fresh coconut 1 teaspoon roasted split Bengal gram ½ lemon 2 tablespoon oil Salt
For paste 10 garlic cloves 2 teaspoon coriander seeds 1 inch ginger 3-4 dried red chillies 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
For Garnishing 4-5 teaspoon besan sev (Bengal gram flour) Finely chopped spring onions
Method Boil noodles and drain it. Add 3 cups of warm water in grated fresh coconut and mix it in the mixture to prepare coconut milk. Par boil all the vegetables. Take a pan and heat oil. Add Bengal gram, onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes. Add spices paste and stir it for 2-3 times. Add tomatoes and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add coconut milk and boiled vegetables. Add salt and lemon juice and let it simmer for about 4-5 minutes. Now take a plate and spread noodles. Pour vegetable gravy. Garnish it with spring onions, besan sev and serve hot. |
