Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4


10 slices of bread

4 big boiled potatoes

½ cup finely chopped carrots

½ cup finely chopped spring onions

¼ cup finely chopped capsicum/green bell pepper

2 teaspoon chilly sauce

2 teaspoon soy sauce

3 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)


Oil for frying


For batter

1 cup maida (all purpose flour)

1 teaspoon ground black pepper


1 cup bread crumbs



Cut the slices of bread into circle shape using ring cutter or steel bowl.

Take a pan and sauté carrots and spring onions for about 2 minutes. Add capsicum, salt, chilly sauce and soy sauce. Add mashed potatoes and mix it well. Let it cool slightly.

Take one slice of bread.  Spread potato mix evenly on it. Prepare all the slices this way.

For batter- Take maida, add salt, pepper and water and prepare thin batter.

Take kadai and heat oil. Take a slice, dip in the batter, sprinkle bread crumbs and sesame seeds and deep fry. You can do it without sesame seeds also. Deep fry all the bread coins in batches.

Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.

If you are serving as a snack then make one circle from the slice of bread and if you are serving as a starter then you can make two circles from the slice.

Another way of serving is by putting green, tamarind and garlic chutney on the top.
