Sabodana Khidchi

Sabodana Khidchi

Serves: 3


2 cup sabodana/sago

1 cup finely chopped potatoes

1 cup coriander paste

4-5 finely chopped red chillies

1 tablespoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

4-5 curry leaves


2 tablespoon oil



Soak sabodana in water for about 2-3 hours. Soak it in flat vessel. Strain it in the sieve.

Take kadai/frying pan and heat oil. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, finely chopped potatoes and sauté it for about 8-10 minutes on a low flame. Add red chillies, ginger paste, coriander paste, salt and sauté it for 2-3 more minutes. Finally, add sabodana and cook it for 4-5 minutes on a low flame. Close the lid, stir it occasionally.

Serve it immediately with curd or raita.
