Sabodana/Sago balls Pancake

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Soaking Time: 4-5 hours

Serves: 3

1 cup small sabodana/sago balls

3 medium potatoes

5 teaspoon tapkir flour (arrowroot)

2 teaspoon ginger paste

4-5 finely chopped green chillies

1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

2 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon red chilly powder

1 teaspoon garam masala

Soak sabodana for 4-5 hours. Drain water and let it dry. Sabodana comes in two types- big and small. I have taken small sabodana, it soaks and mashes fast.

Boil potatoes, peel the skin and mash it.

Take a bowl. Add mashed potatoes and soaked sabodana. Slightly mash sabodana. Add salt, ginger paste, green chillies, sugar, lemon juice, red chilly powder, garam masala and mix it well. Add tapkir and mix it properly.

Take non stick tawa and add 1 teaspoon oil. Take about 3 tablespoon of sabodana mixture and put it on the pan and slightly pat it to make the pancake. Cook it on both the sides.

Serve it hot with green chutney.

If you feel, the mixture is very lumpy you can add more tapkir. It depends upon the potatoes, if water remains then it will become more lumpy.
