Spinach-Potato Tikki Chaat (Patties)

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

5 boiled potatoes

1/2 cup finely chopped spinach

1/2 cup tapkir (arrowroot)

1/4 cup green chutney

1/4 cup tamarind-date chutney

1/4 cup chaat masala

2 cup curd/yogurt

4 tablespoon sugar

3 teaspoon lemon juice

3-4 finely chopped green chillies

1/2 cup besan sev (gram flour) for garnishing

1 teaspoon red chilly powder (optional)

To make curd - Take a bowl, add curd, salt, sugar, mix it well and put it in the refrigerator to chill.  You can add some chaat masala in the curd if you like it or can sprinkle on the top while serving.

To make patties - Take a bowl, peel the skin of boiled potatoes and mash it. Add spinach, tapkir, salt, 2 tablespoon of chaat masala, green chillies, lemon juice and mix it well. Wet your hands and prepare flat, small patties.

Take a non-stick tawa, put very little oil and cook it on both the sides on medium to low heat. You can cook 8-10 patties at a time. Prepare all the patties in the same way in batches and let it cool slightly.

While serving, put patties at the bottom of the bowl. Put chilled curd, green and tamarind chutney, chaat masala, red chilly powder and finally besan sev on the top. Serve it immediately.
